Three Pieces Of Moving Equipment You Need For Your Next Move

Posted on: 23 October 2015

When you are moving to a new house, having the right moving equipment can make all the difference in the world because it can keep you from being injured during the move and make the process take far less time. It is important to take your time when moving items and move things in the smartest and safest way possible. The guide that follows provides you with a few helpful tips as to which pieces of moving equipment are going to be essential at your next move.

Sliders

Sliders are small disks that are placed on the floor under furniture so that the furniture can easily be slid across carpet, vinyl flooring, or hardwood flooring with ease. To use the sliders, simply place the slider on the floor, hold up one side of a piece of furniture, slide a slider under each leg, and then lower the furniture. Repeat the process under the legs on the other side of the furniture and then you should be able to push the furniture with ease.

A Dolly

No matter how strong you are, some pieces of furniture or appliances will be very difficult for you to move simply because they are bulky or awkward to carry. If you need to move a refrigerator, washing machine, or even a couch, use a dolly to make the move easier. The dolly can be pushed under the edge of the large item and then the item can be tipped toward you and rolled out of the house quickly and easily. Be sure to strap the large item to the dolly so that it does not fall off while you are rolling it out to the moving truck.

Lifting Straps

Once you have moved the large, bulky items as close to the door as possible, you and someone else will have to lift the furniture to remove it from the house and place it into the truck. Lifting straps lace under the furniture and around your body so that the weight can be easily distributed. This makes moving larger items easier and safer because the weight is evenly distributed.

These items are very inexpensive and can make moving large or small items much easier. Be sure that you read the directions for how to use the items to ensure that you use them the way that they were intended so that you are not injured trying to use them during your move.
